Video WebM

WebM là định dạng video mã nguồn mở, miễn phí bản quyền được Google phát triển dành cho web. Nó sử dụng các codec video VP8, VP9 hoặc AV1 kết hợp với âm thanh Vorbis hoặc Opus trong container dựa trên Matroska. WebM được hỗ trợ sẵn trong Chrome, Firefox, Edge và Android.

Lịch sử

Google giới thiệu WebM vào năm 2010 sau khi mua lại On2 Technologies và mã nguồn mở hóa VP8. VP9 ra mắt năm 2013, và AV1 (do Alliance for Open Media phát triển) được bổ sung vào năm 2018.
